This project involved the demolition of various buildings and court areas, as well as excavation and piling to create a basement.
The basement excavation was approximately 5 metres deep and required 200+ piles for the wall retention system.
Kane was subsequently appointed as the preferred contractor to undertake the design and construction of the $25 million Main Works project.
The new building located on Tin Alley at the University of Melbourne, houses teaching facilities, including laboratories, tutorial rooms, an auditorium, art gallery, studio, music practice rooms and drama spaces.
