Kane Constructions was awarded the $35M Lump Sum contract in 2018 to deliver a state-of-the art Science and Engineering research facility for the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).
Construction of the new facility required the demolition of the existing University Hall, construction of an eight storey infill structure and façade treatments to the southern and western elevations. Kane also completed the integrated fit out of the building with specialist labs designed to facilitate targeted research across a range of emerging and established fields including Advanced Analytics, Synthesis, Phenomics and Translational Medicine.
The land locked site is located in the centre of the busy campus, requiring detailed logistical planning and execution to minimise impact to University operations.
The project reached Practical Completion in July 2020, three months ahead of program.
