Kane Constructions has been awarded a $5 million contract to refurbish and expand the heritage listed Main Oval Pavilion at University of Melbourne.
The existing pavilion was built in 1906 and is heritage listed. The project involves the refurbishment of the original elements of the pavilion, demolition of an extension built in the 1950's and construction of a new expansion to house a function room, bar & kiosk, commercial kitchen, club kitchen, storage areas, trainer’s rooms, change rooms, ice baths a long with external seating, deck & BBQ area.
The design has been completed by Cox Architecture with whom we have recently completed the Victoria University Construction Futures project.
Works are to be completed ready for use in early 2014.
